Our Journey
Founded in 2007, ScentsAbility started as an act of love, but it has become so much more. It is our vision to create a loving, inclusive, and supportive community where young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) can work, live, and play. We are dedicated to creating outstanding artisan candles, fueled by our love and commitment to providing employment, job training, and supported housing to adults with I/DD.
Every candle in our line is created by our team of adults with I/DD. ScentsAbility trainees directly participate in all of our daily retail and manufacturing operations. Each team member plays a role in the development, creation, and sale of our beautifully crafted artisan scented candles. When you purchase from ScentsAbility, you receive more than a beautiful candle for the body or home. Your purchase will help adults with I/DD in our community find their path to independence and fuel their personal potential.
